GreenCamUz Second Training Program Successfully Launched at Karabük University

The Second GreenCamUz Training Program officially commenced on 6 July 2026 at Karabük University, Türkiye, bringing together project partners and sustainability experts from Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Poland, Lithuania, and other international institutions. The event marks another important milestone in the implementation of the Erasmus+ CBHE project "GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan."

The Second GreenCamUz Training Program officially commenced on 6 July 2026 at Karabük University, Türkiye, bringing together project partners and sustainability experts from Uzbekistan, Türkiye, Poland, Lithuania, and other international institutions. The event marks another important milestone in the implementation of the Erasmus+ CBHE project "GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan." 

The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks from project coordinator Mr. Ulugbek Mamadaliev (Kokand University), Prof. Dr. Iwona Kłosok-Bazan (Opole University of Technology, Poland), Prof. Dr. Vytautas Bučinskas (Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Lithuania), Prof. Dr. Azizbek Ismailov, Rector of Alfraganus University (Uzbekistan), and Prof. Dr. Fatih Kırışık, Rector of Karabük University (Türkiye). Following the opening speeches, participants gathered for an official group photo. 

A symbolic Tree Planting Ceremony was held to emphasize the project's commitment to environmental sustainability and the development of greener university campuses. Participants also visited the Faculty of Engineering to learn about Karabük University's academic infrastructure and sustainability initiatives. 

The afternoon session focused on the strategic implementation of GreenCamUz project activities. Participants discussed the final version of the Green Campus Strategy, implementation roadmaps, and monitoring framework. Presentations also covered the development of GreenCamUz course materials, establishment of business and community partnerships, creation of the virtual knowledge-sharing platform, preparations for the 1st GreenCamUz Conference, and planning for the Third Training Meeting

The first day provided an excellent opportunity for partners to strengthen collaboration, exchange experiences, and coordinate future activities aimed at integrating sustainability into higher education institutions across Uzbekistan.

The GreenCamUz consortium looks forward to the upcoming training sessions, which will continue with expert lectures, curriculum development workshops, and practical demonstrations of sustainable campus practices.
