International Conference on Sustainable Development and Green Technologies in Higher Education Held within the GreenCamUz Project

On 21 September 2026, the international online conference “Sustainable Development and Green Technologies in Higher Education: International Experience and Innovative Solutions” was successfully held within the framework of the Erasmus+ GreenCamUz project.

The conference brought together more than 170 participants from higher education institutions and partner organizations, creating an international platform for sharing knowledge, experience, and innovative approaches to sustainable development in higher education.

Organized by Alfraganus University, the conference focused on the role of higher education institutions in advancing sustainable development, promoting green technologies, developing Green Campuses, and implementing innovative environmental solutions.

The opening session featured welcoming remarks from representatives of participating institutions and organizations, including Azizbek Ismoilov, Rector of Alfraganus University; Aziza Abdurakhmanova, Representative of the European Union Delegation and Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Uzbekistan; Jamoliddin Kambarov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Kokand University; and Bahtiyor Pulatov, Rector of Green University, DSc, Professor.

The conference featured speakers from Uzbekistan, Poland, and Türkiye, including Professor Iwona Kłosok-Bazan from Opole University of Technology and Shams Ayad Ibrahim from Karabuk University. Representatives of Tashkent International University, Green University, and Alfraganus University also shared their experience and perspectives.

Key topics discussed during the conference included:

• 💡 Green technologies and innovative solutions;
• 🎓 Sustainable development in higher education;
• 🌍 International cooperation and knowledge exchange;
• ♻️ Green transformation of higher education institutions.

The event concluded with a Discussion and Q&A session, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange views, ask questions, and discuss practical approaches to advancing sustainability in higher education.

With more than 170 participants, the conference demonstrated the growing interest in sustainable development and green transformation within the higher education sector and strengthened international dialogue between universities and partner institutions.

The event was an important part of the implementation of GreenCamUz – Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan, contributing to the project’s goals of promoting sustainable practices, green campus approaches, capacity building, and international cooperation.
